Thank you for visiting my 2019 Boston Marathon fundraising page!
I am raising money for the Wellesley Scholarship Foundation, a non-profit organization close to my heart as a former recipient of the Margaret Daniels Scholarship. I am one of four sisters, and my family and I are grateful for the help I received from WSF towards the increasingly expensive endeavor of obtaining a college education. I remain so thankful for the outstanding public education I received in Wellesley, and for WSF’s commitment to furthering my education at Harvard College. I’m excited to have the chance to help give back to other students, as I truly believe that education is the key to our success as a community!
As the oldest in my family by 10 years, I went through Wellesley Middle School and Wellesley High School well before my siblings. I was the first to go to college and the first to live independently in an apartment. But it was my younger sister, Rebekah, who taught me about running.
While getting started was difficult, running became easier with practice. My runs with Rebekah down the Fuller Brook path and by Morse’s Pond became a highlight of my time at home; our long runs turned into long conversations that I would greatly look forward to. When she suggested we run a half marathon, I was nervous. With Rebekah as my coach, though, we finished the beautiful Adirondack half marathon this fall in just over two hours.
After the half marathon, Rebekah started saying “When we run the Boston marathon….” We were delighted to secure the opportunity to run the Boston Marathon this spring, and raise money for two important Wellesley charities in the process!
Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to my run for WSF. In addition, my sister Rebekah will run on behalf of Wellesley’s War Memorial Scholarship Fund.
