Thanks to you, the new home for The Tibetan Buddhist Center of Philadelphia is almost ready to open its doors--we hope as soon as the end of the month! This building and this new center has been a dream of our most precious teacher, Venerable Losang Samten, whose has had a profound vision for what it will give to us all. This oasis of peace is needed more than ever in these troubles times. It is so close to becoming a reality!
Your support has made it possible for us to get this far. We are truly a non-sectarian Buddhist Center, with many male and female teachers of different lineages and traditions having come to teach and to lead retreats in the past. Over the years--in the many different places we have been--thousands of people have passed through our center, including groups of school students of all ages, members of different religious groups, and other visitors wanting to learn about Tibetan Buddhist teachings and rituals. It has been wonderful to witness the kindness and compassion that has been experienced and shared.
As Ven. Losang-la has said, the new Center will welcome Buddhists and non-Buddhists, invite scholars and teachers to share their knowledge of the Buddha Dharma, hold retreats, present different levels of Buddhist practices, be a space for sand mandala and ritual dance classes, and offer cultural activities as well. We will be able to provide more teachings and meditations throughout the week, and have wonderful tsog offerings to share wisdom, bliss, fellowship and community.
"We have finally found a permanent home that we can decorate in the style of a Tibetan Buddhist temple inside and outside. This physical temple will be used to build our own 'inner peaceful temple’."
We simply can’t do it without you. Your support will make a real, lasting impact in the lives of all those will have the blessing of Ven. Losing-la’s teachings, just as it has for those us who already have had these gifts of his wisdom and compassion.
With deep gratitude and thanks,
Building Fund Co-Chairs Ken Klein and Barbara Montgomery
