The Leisure World Computer Center Inc. (a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit), operates the Computer Learning Center and their mission is to provide opportunities for the Leisure World Senior Community Residents to participate in formal computer educational activities and use computers for their personal use. The center receives no financial support from the Leisure World of Maryland Corporation (LWMC).
Most all of our funds come from donations received from individual and businesses, the selling of some donated IT related equipment, and a small amount of funds we charge to help cover our costs for some of the training we offer.
The Leisure World Computer Center, Inc. was created expressly to provide residents and Guest of Leisure World access to PC and/or Mac computers and to computer training. For over two decades, the Computer Center has maintained a proud and long tradition of enabling Leisure World residents to learn and use computer technology.
Thanks to our active Board Members, Volunteers and Room Monitors, the Computer Learning Center is open everyday when Monitors are available. The Center is open to permit any and all Leisure World Residents to use the computers for research, email, internet access, word processing, spreadsheets, training classes, demonstrations, some technical support and Open Labs plus camaraderie without a cost in most cases.
The Computer Learning Center is located in Clubhouse 2 and inventory consists of 25 PC's (16 Microsoft based, 12 Microsoft based Laptops and 9 Apple based Mac's), 3 color laser printers and Scanners. The Leisure World Computer Center, Inc. Board of Directors in looking for funds to help keep the center operating and and to cover the cost of future Hardware, Software, Office Supplies, Training Materials, and Printing. Any size Donation is Welcome!
