Since 1987, the Boston Herald in Education program has delivered free newspapers to thousands of classrooms throughout New England thanks to our readers and friends. Just last year more than 400 schools received free copies of the Boston Herald. We bring real-world knowledge right into the classroom by using the newspaper to teach students civics, reading and writing skills, science and technology skills, financial literacy and so much more. Help us continue to provide students with newspapers and other valuable educational resources to support their learning.
Your donation provides:
• Online newspaper delivery to schools
• Student publishing opportunities every month in the Boston Herald through our new
Student Voices program
• Specialized curriculum for students of all ages and abilities
• Teacher workshops
• A weekly news quiz
• Classroom visits by Boston Herald staff
• Student tours of the Boston Herald
Here's what teachers are saying:
“With your help we have reached so many students who would never have a chance to read the paper.”
– Rob Bayley, Leominster High School.
“I feel confident that all Athol High School sophomores are becoming more informed citizens in our community because of the Boston Herald in Education program.”
- Kathy Horrigan, Athol High School
"Being able to have access to a real newspaper online is essential for giving students an authentic journalism course. Not only do students have the opportunity to read and appreciate the work of local professional journalists, but they also can interact with it via technology.
-Katrina Hegeman, Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School
