Everyone is welcome to come to Central Wharf restaurant on Saturday, May 2, 2015 from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. to meet new friends, watch the Kentucky Derby, participate in Derby games and a huge silent auction and maybe even win great door prizes!
This is the 4th annual Kentucky Derby benefit chaired by Steve and Jacqui Trotta to support the work of Boston Cares, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Boston Cares mobilizes more than 23,000 volunteers annually in support of 165 Greater Boston schools and non-profit agencies. Last year at this event we raised over $15,000 in proceeds that went towards supporting critical operational functions of the Boston Cares organization. Boston Cares is growing its impact and really needs your support as the organization moves into new office space near North Station.
We encourage you to buy tickets in advance through Friday, May 1 at 2:00 p.m.. Tickets will be available at the door for $75 per person. Please note that there are no hard copy tickets - you will be on the list at the door. Admission includes hors d'oeuvres and entry for the door prizes, including museum passes, meals, and more. There will be a cash bar. We have reserved the entire space at Central Wharf.
Please wear your best Derby gear - awards will go to the best dressed male, female, couple, and for best hat! Winners will get gift certificates from our judges at Salmagundi, Best Dressed, and Beacon Hill Bow Tie Club. Don't hesitate to invite friends!
Through a generous donation by Woodford Reserve and G.H. Mumm, we are offering a limited number of very special $100 Mint Juleps in special copper cups and $100 bottles of champagne in buckets (sabering of your champagne is included!). The cup and the bucket are then yours to keep. Guests can now pre-buy these while they are available and pick them up upon check in at the party. Please note that these purchases do not include admission to the event.
We'll send out information on the silent auction prior to the event for you to review the items in the auction. Cash only for the horse auction, credit cards will be accepted for entry or silent auction items on the day of the event. Winners Circle Patron Package ($1,000)
The Winners Circle Patron ticket package includes a reserved table for 6, 6 event tickets, 12 drink tickets, 1/2 page ad in the program, listing on the event Web site, and a special gift bag for each of your guests. $700 of the Patron Package is tax-deductible.
Woodford Reserve Run for the Roses Patron Package ($500)
The Run for the Roses Patron package includes a reserved table for 4, 4 event tickets, 8 drink tickets, listing in the program and on the event Web site, and a special gift bag for your guests. $300 of the Patron Package is tax-deductible.
Kentucky Derby Party Ticket ($75)
Ticket for One Person's entry to the Kentucky Derby Party to Benefit Boston Cares. Tickets are non-refundable.
Woodford Reserve $100 Mint Julep in a Copper Cup ($100)
Just for this event, our sponsor Woodford Reserve, the official bourbon of the Kentucky Derby, is donating the proceeds from a special $100 Mint Julep in a copper cup. It will exclusively use their Double Oak bourbon, plus bourbon infused vanilla sugar. All proceeds from the $100 Mint Julep go to support the work of Boston Cares. There are only 60 of these! The $1,000 ones always sell out at the Derby, so let’s try and do the same in Boston!
G.H. Mumm $100 Bottle of Champagne ($100)
Just for this event, G.H. Mumm is donating bottles of their classic Cordon Rouge champagne and matching champagne buckets to support Boston Cares. Have your bottle sabered open at the party by wine expert Steve Meckiff. All proceeds go to support the work of Boston Cares. Limited supply!
