The piping plovers of Plum Island don't need golf courses and condos -- they need a wildlife sanctuary. Take a plunge into Long Island Sound on March 11 and help raise funds to support the fight to save Plum Island from being auctioned off to the highest bidder for development!

Help CFE/Save the Sound raise money to fund our Save Plum Island campaign and we will turn your support into action -- actions like congressional advocacy, a federal law suit, consultants with expertise on what it will take to clean up the island after the lab leaves, and efforts to educate and inform the public about this incredible natural resource that belongs to you, The People.

Prizes will be awarded for the most funds raised and for best costume. Start fundraising today!

How to participate:

Use the sign up form on the right to build your own fundraising page and get your friends and family to donate to you for taking the plunge! On March 11 at 10:00 a.m. join friends, neighbors, and CFE/Save the Sound staff at Old Saybrook Town Beach and take the plunge into Long Island Sound! It might be a little chilly, but you'll help the fight for permanent preservation of this regional treasure.

*Participants will be required to sign a liability waiver on the day of the plunge.
